LLCER bachelor's degrees

The LLCER degree at Inalco enables students to study a language, its literature and the civilization of its country and regional environment in the contemporary world. 57 languages are offered:

- Africa and Indian Ocean: Amharic, Berber, Hausa, Malagasy, Mandinka (Bambara), Fulani, Swahili, Wolof, Yoruba; 
- East Asia: Chinese, Korean, Japanese; 
- South Asia and Himalayas: Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Rromani, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan; 
- Southeast Asia and Pacific: Burmese, Philippine languages (Filipino-tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano), Indonesian-Malay, Khmer, Oceanic languages (Drehu, Tahitian, Bichelamar), Lao, Siamese, Vietnamese; 
- Eurasia: Armenian, Georgian, Kurdish, Mongolian, Pashto, Persian, Turkish; 
- Europe: Albanian, Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Finnish, Modern Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Czech, Ukrainian; 
- Middle East - Maghreb: Literal Arabic, Maghreb Arabic, Oriental Arabic, modern Hebrew; 
- Russia: Russian.

LLCER degree courses at Inalco

In the first year of the Licence, all students follow the regional pathway within which they study their specialist language and its civilization.

From the second year of the Licence, students can either

  • continue to study and deepen their specialist language and civilization in the regional path,
  • complement their training with an introduction to humanities and social science disciplines or the discovery of major themes in thethematic and disciplinary path,
  • begin studying a second language alongside the first in a parcours bilangue,
  • begin a parcours professionnalisanten Commerce international, Communication & Formations Interculturelles (renamed Communication Interculturelle et Internationale in 2025), Didactique des Langues et du FLE, Relations Internationales or Traitement Automatique des Langues (attention: these five courses are selective).
