International strategy

First and foremost, international exchanges are designed to provide Inalco students with an immersion experience that complements their studies, in particular through integrated study or research stays, within the framework of partnerships that now cover all the geographical areas covered by Inalco's courses. Through the Erasmus program, Inalco has developed its student and teacher exchanges with the main European poles traditionally described as "orientalist" (African and Asian studies), notably with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic states and Turkey, whose languages and cultures are also taught at Inalco. Thanks to European programs such as Erasmus Mundus and support from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, Inalco has also been able to strengthen its ties with Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Korea, the Arab countries, China and Japan.
Today, Inalco directs its international relations policy towards the development of three axes:
- distance learning, notably via video-conferencing
- joint training courses such as double degrees
- European summer intensive courses
His involvement in Sorbonne Paris Cité consortium projects, notably in the opening of four overseas antennae within highly internationalized universities in Singapore, São Paulo, Buenos-Aires and Berlin, is opening up new prospects for international influence.
