Third professional round table: Scientific research in the arts and culture sector
Among the many career opportunities offered by Inalco's courses are cultural professions: audiovisual, cultural cooperation, publishing, museum, heritage and many others. The Service de l'événementiel et de l'action culturelle is organizing the 5th edition of a series of professional round tables on cultural professions.

How do you make a career in research? What are the concrete opportunities in this exciting and constantly evolving field?
During this roundtable discussion, Inalco alumni will share their journeys and experiences in the world of research in the fields of arts and culture. They will reveal how they navigated between intellectual curiosity and building a real career, responding to current issues in the sector.
What are the specific challenges of research? How do you stand out in such a varied field? This discussion will offer practical answers and tips for getting started and succeeding in this field.
Speakers:
- Ada Lipman: a former student on the Hindi Licence (Multilingual Digital Processing course) and the Hindi Arts and Literature Master's, Ada is currently preparing a thesis in Arts at Inalco (CERLOM), entitled L'empereur Akbar, personnage de fiction littéraire et audiovisuelle en Inde et dans la diaspora indienne, de l'indépendance à nos jours. She also teaches the L3 course Cinemas of South Asia and Tibet, and contributes to other courses and seminars in the Indian, South Asian and Tibetan Studies department, notably on contemporary Indian arts. Her research focuses in particular on North India (thanks to her training in Hindi) and on popular forms of expression such as cinema and comics.
- Julie Duvigneau is a lecturer in Persian language and literature at Inalco. A specialist in comparative literature (Russian and Iranian), she specializes in modern and contemporary Iranian literature. She has translated several novels from Persian: Bahram Sadeqi's Le Pays du Non-Où (Aube, 2007) and Amir-Hassan Cheheltan's Le Grand Calligraphe d'Ispahan (Intervalles, 2024), La mère des palmiers (Zulma, 2025) and short stories for various anthologies (Amours persanes, Gallimard, 2021; Femme, Rêve, Liberté, Actes Sud, 2023) and magazines (Europe, Café, Apulée, Graminées).
