Meeting with Dušan Kovačević

A living legend of Serbian theater and cinema, Dušan Kovačević entered the world of theater upon graduation with the plays Radovan III and Les Marathoniens font un tour d'honneur. For over half a century, his works have been regularly performed in theaters in Serbia and abroad. His films, notably Qui chante là-bas?,have become cult favorites. Dušan Kovačević, who during the Yugoslav period had to face Communist censorship, is a major figure in Serbian culture. His screenplay for the film Underground, directed by Emir Kusturica, won him the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
