Eloquence contest final: "Peace is a suspended dream" (Kofi Annan)

The main aim is to promote peace through the cultural, linguistic and institutional wealth of Inalco. To this end, each topic has been designed to encourage candidates to think about peace and share their peaceful ideals. The subject of the final ("Is it necessary to wage war to achieve peace?") is the culmination of their reflection. Indeed, war and peace are two notions often seen as antithetical, yet it would seem that war always tends to be justified by a peaceful will. We therefore invite our candidates to reflect on the link between these two notions, to ask themselves whether war is really indispensable to peace, and to question the existence of other dimensions to war but also to peace, which would be organized on different scales.
To best represent Inalco's cultural diversity during the competition, which is intended to be open to all students in France and to all members of the public, Promethei, the Bureau des Étudiants and Inalco's cultural associations have decided to work together on a joint buffet to be held after the finals, from 7pm to 8pm, following the prize-giving ceremony.
This will be an opportunity for the candidates, the jury and the public to discuss the themes addressed together in a convivial setting.
