Perumal Murugan (b. 1966) is one of the best-known South Asian writers worldwide. The discussion, organized following the publication of his novel Mātorupākaṉ (Femme pour moitié) in French translation by Gallimard (January 2025), will cover, among other things, his body of work, his contribution to Tamil cultural life and the reception of his books abroad.
