Russian studies
Courses in Russian were first offered at Inalco in 1817, but it wasn't until 1876 that a "chair of Russian language" was created. Since then, the teaching of Russian language and civilization has continued to attract increasing numbers of students.
Inalco's Department of Russian Studies offers a comprehensive training program that combines sustained language learning with an approach to Russian civilization in its many aspects (history, geography, economics, linguistics, literature, arts) for the preparation of national Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
Russian language training also includes an introductory year for absolute beginners, which enables access to the Bachelor's degree course, and also offers the possibility of following an intensive Russian diploma enabling absolute beginners to obtain a Bachelor's degree in three years.
After the Master's degree, training in Russian can continue into a Doctorate under the responsibility of the Doctoral School and the CREE (Centre de Recherches Europes Eurasie).

Tutoring
Tutoring is for volunteer students who commit to attending sessions throughout the year. It enables students to work in small groups on course points that need to be reviewed.
In addition to the progress that this makes possible, a bonus system on the corresponding TD grade rewards student attendance at the end of the semester. Language tutoring slots are available for L1 students (in grammar and expression) and L2 and L3 students (in expression and comprehension).
Registrations are made directly with your speaking, comprehension and practical grammar teachers.
