Unlocking the language - Restitution of Elitza Gueorguieva's writing workshop at Inalco

Over the course of 2024, Inalco has worked with teacher-researchers from the Literary Translation and Language Didactics Master's program, who are part of three research teams (PLIDAM, CERLOM, CREE), on a writing residency project supported by the Île-de-France region.

This first residency welcomed Elitza Gueorguieva, Franco-Bulgarian novelist and patron of the 2024 edition of the Inalco Multilingual Short Story Competition.

Bachelor's and Master's students had the opportunity to take part in a writing workshop with Elitza Gueorguieva and attend a series of meetings with translingual or heterolingual women writers from various cultural areas (Aliona Gloukhova, Elise Goldberg, Négar Djavadi and L. Etchart). Etchart).

The writing workshop, while enabling them to grapple with the question(s) of identity, will have shown them that language can be "unbridled", moving away from academic language and a certain standardized French. This public restitution of their work bears witness to the diversity of the forms developed and the creativity they were able to experiment with, exploring all the languages at their disposal.
