This event is organized on the occasion of the arrival of the delegation from Taiwan's National Center for Traditional Arts in Paris, made up of two companies: Guoquang Opéra and Opéra Yu de Taïwan, whom we are delighted to welcome to Inalco.

In recent years, these two professional Taiwanese traditional theater companies have been exploring a contemporary aesthetic with an innovative spirit. In our meeting with the professional Taiwanese artists, we'll discover the foundations of their arts and their contemporary creative ideas inspired by popular works such as The Peregrinations of the Monkey King (西遊記) and The Legend of the White Snake (白蛇傳*)*.

Program

During this meeting with the companies, there will be a demonstration of two plays in the first part: La princesse et son éventail magique and L'eau blanche.

In the second part, practical workshops to learn the essential techniques of working with these two traditional theatrical styles innovated in Taiwan will be organized.
