The Centre de Recherches Europes-Eurasie-CREE (Inalco), with the support of the Ukrainian Institute has the honor of inviting you to a meeting with the Permanent Delegate of Ukraine to UNESCO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France, His Excellency Mr. Vadym Omelchenko.

Argumentary of the scientific event

The conference on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's entry into UNESCO traces Ukraine's journey within the organization and its various initiatives, focusing in particular on the period of independence and UNESCO's efforts in preserving heritage in times of war.

Speaker's biography

Ukrainian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France.

Vadym Omelchenko was born in 1963.

He is a graduate of the Yaroslav Mudryi National University of Law.

Ukrainian Emeritus Lawyer.

Vadym Omelchenko had a career in law enforcement.

He has twice been an advisor to the Speakers of the Ukrainian Parliament, led a group of advisors to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister on economic reforms, and also served as a consultant to the parliamentary commission on combating organized crime and corruption.

Vadym Omelchenko has taught at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Since 2006 - President of the Gorshenin Institute. He has lectured at the École Militaire, the French National Assembly and the French Senate, and has repeatedly given interviews and expert commentaries on the situation in Ukraine to the French media, including Le Monde, La Croix and La Tribune.

Since August 2020 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France.

On April 28, 2021, he was appointed Аmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Principality of Monaco by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 177/2021.

On December 22, 2023, he was promoted to the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary by Presidential Decree no. 843/2023.
