Tourism, heritage and an integrated approach. Case studies in China and France

Presentations in French and English (possibly in Chinese).

In China, the XIVth Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) will focus on the domestic market, and in particular on heritage and tourism, both of which have been factors in development for over two decades. The problems encountered in terms of endangering heritage, landscapes and populations on overexploited or poorly exploited sites are now shared by China and Western countries alike.
In France as in China, integrated approaches have been adopted in an attempt to bring together and produce new urban management tools that combine cultural, natural and intangible heritage, tourism and environmental quality in a territorial vision involving villages and towns. The aim of the case studies presented will be to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the projects carried out, so as to help disseminate best practices and contribute to the development of specific recommendations, targeted by type of stakeholder or context.
