Trëmma solidarity drive for the Urgence Afghanistan campaign
Foundation
In continuation of the campaign Emergency Afghanistan, the Inalco Foundation has joined forces with Trëmma to organize a collecte solidaire, the proceeds of which will go entirely towards equipping each exiled student and academic with computers and hardware, and training them in digital uses. In this way, they will be able to continue their studies, carry out the administrative formalities associated with their arrival in France, and keep in touch with their loved ones.
Returning to the Afghan crisis
Since the fall of Kabul last August, the Afghan population has been plunged into a situation of immediate danger. Faced with a dramatic situation, sometimes in immediate danger, intellectuals are in fact particularly threatened and subjected to reprisals for the simple fact of being bearers of knowledge and relays of Afghan culture. As a result, these people can no longer exercise their teaching profession or pursue their studies. This is particularly the case for many women, to whom Inalco pays very special attention.
Faced with this humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan putting students and academics, among an entire population, on the road, the Foundation has pledged from September 2021 to welcome and protect those who carry with them the Afghan language, culture and civilization, so dear to the Institute's values.
The creation of a digital marketplace
Trëmma is a platform for participatory financing through objects, launched by the Label Emmaüs solidarity marketplace in January 2021. Trëmma thus enables everyone to donate or buy objects, with all the funds raised going to finance individual computer equipment and training in digital uses for Afghan students arriving in France thanks to the campagne Urgence Afghanistan.
You can continue to participate in this beautiful solidarity project until May 18, 2022 by donating or purchasing these items on our online Trëmma catalog.
A solidarity collection
The large solidarity collection organized at the end of the year by the Bureau des étudiants (BDE) at the Pôle des langues et civilisations enabled us to collect, thanks to the generosity of students, many items, currently on sale on the campaign catalogue carried by the Foundation on Trëmma.
Accounts for this outpouring of solidarity:
- 368 objects collected
- 45 contributors
- Nearly €500 collected
The entire Foundation team would like to thank everyone who generously participated in this solidarity campaign!
