Student life master plan (2023-2028)
The participatory drafting process has enabled us to place students in the position of stakeholders and to mobilize them, particularly during the proposal formulation phase, in order to adapt the proposals to their operating methods and ensure that student life is designed by students, for students.
.
The SDVE was drawn up on the basis of a survey and thematic consultation and working groups, with the participation of internal departments, partners and students. It was drafted in consultation with the CVEC commission.
A word from the president
This master plan is the culmination of a collective process that began in February 2022. I would like to thank all the players who contributed to the development of this plan, and in particular the students who were at the heart of this co-construction process, as well as Laurent Maheux (Vice President for Student Success and Life) and the entire team at Inalco's Student Success and Life administrative department.
The covid pandemic reminded us all of the importance of solidarity and an organization capable of responding to the needs and demands of our students. Although we have emerged from this global health crisis, the current period remains complex, with many societal and individual issues at stake. We are responding to these challenges through the proposals in this plan, which focus on several strategic national themes: the economic and social model, health and lifestyle, student life on campus and geographical mobility. And of course, we're not forgetting to add the student life issues linked to training itself: the consequences for career paths and success, the organization of curricula, and the increasing digitization of teaching methods.
.
If we had to sum up this plan in three key words, they might be: inclusivity, well-being and engagement, three notions that permeate higher education and research policy and which we make our own at Inalco.
In addition, there are two cross-cutting themes that reflect the need to optimize premises and schedules, opening up living spaces to the Inalco student community. Last but not least, we need to raise awareness of existing health, sports and cultural services, and to remain vigilant and attentive to the continuity of the actions envisaged and set out in this plan.
.
I hope that this plan, drawn up for the period 2023-2028, will provide the reader with useful elements for a fair assessment of these actions, those already implemented and those to come.
Jean-François HUCHET,
President of Inalco
