Statement by the Inalco Board of Directors - March 11, 2022

The war launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine has struck our community with shock and incomprehension. We strongly condemn this violent aggression. No party will escape unscathed.

We stand in particular solidarity with our Ukrainian students, for whom we are fully mobilized and whom we support. The same goes for our students in Russia and Ukraine. Inalco is involved on a daily basis to support them.

In addition, misinformation propagated by the media and social networks has led people to believe that Russian students are excluded or discriminated against in French and European universities. Inalco, like other French universities, welcomes students of all origins, cultures and religions with the same benevolence, in keeping with its humanist traditions, and will be particularly attentive to maintaining equal treatment for all.
