Spring School "Water, a resource under high voltage?", May 22-26, 2023
Training
The theme of the 2023 edition: "Water, a resource under high tension?"
The place of water is central, as it is a necessary element for the development of life on Earth and central to climate regulation. If it runs out, if there is an excess or if its quality deteriorates, a whole range of ecosystems and entire populations are threatened. Against a backdrop of profound global change, this week's course will explore an emblematic resource at the heart of environmental issues, examining water from a number of angles: from uses, to stakeholders, to management and sharing methods, right through to issues of power and risk.
Initiated by Inalco's Environment specialization course and the Centre d'études en sciences sociales sur les mondes africains, américains et asiatiques (CESSMA), this training course will also involve several partners, relays from the scientific world and experts in the field of water: Action contre la faim (ACF), the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), and the association Réseau d'Études et d'Echanges en Sciences Sociales sur l'Eau (Rés-EAUx).
The spring school is aimed at anyone (Master's students, doctoral and post-doctoral students, professionals) wishing to learn more about water-related environmental issues. It also targets players involved in the entire project cycle. It is open to public and private administrations, the associative world(NGOs, associations, solidarity and humanitarian foundations...), companies and international institutions.
Join us for an enriching experience that will help you meet current and future water challenges!

- Acquire expertise in the various phases of project management: from its conception to its implementation
- Build a network of potential contacts with experts in development and research projects
- Be able to have a more global reflection around water in a current context of accelerating socio-environmental changes
