Scientific report on Chantal Verdeil's mission to Beirut.

This mission was an opportunity for her to:
- Work on the publication project on the Jesuit mission in Armenia (1881-1981): discussions around the project, exploration of the archives of the Society of Jesus in Beirut on this subject. It's a project that touches on several fields:
- History of teaching
- Histories of humanitarianism (missionaries = witnesses and actors)
- History of Orientalism and the construction of Armenology
- History of (Armenian) women in Turkey and then Lebanon
- Invention of Cappadocia (the first authors are Jesuits).
Project stakeholders: Levon Nordiguian (USJ), Philippe Bourmaud (IFEA), Anaïs Lamesa (IFEA), Marie-Levant (Marie Curie Fellow, IFPO), Chantal Verdeil (Inalco).
- Participate in the round table organized by Marie Levant on "Faire l'histoire de l'humanitaire au Moyen-Orient aujourd'hui"
- Meeting with Anna Poujeau (anthropologist, Eastern Christianity, Syria) and interesting discussions around the place of studies on Eastern Christians and links with the Institut Chrétiens d'Orient (ICO de l'œuvre d'Orient)
- Appointment with Philippe Zouain who will publish works by his grandfather Georges Zouaïn (1830-1891), a Nahda author and Arab intellectual of the late 19th century. Has a rich and very interesting family archive. First contact before considering possible cooperation.
- Give courses at USJ (8 hours). Theme: history of women in the Arab world (19th-20th centuries).
- Meeting with Myriam Catusse, director of IFPO.
- Meeting with Carla Edde: double master's project.
