Language courses and cultural workshops for everyone

Throughout the festival de la francophonie, taking place at the Gaîté Lyrique from October 2 to 6, the public will be offered a wide range of cultural workshops, in partnership with various structures and institutions. Plurilingualism plays a major role in the French-speaking world, contrary to popular belief.

To illustrate the ongoing interaction of the French-speaking world and French with other languages, Inalco is taking part in the Festival by offering courses in rare and little-taught languages that will introduce the public to several languages. These courses are offered by Inalco teachers. Over the weekend, you can learn Armenian, Romanian, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Moroccan Arabic, Swahili and Mayan.

On Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6 at 11am, 12:15pm, 2pm and 3:15pm, in the modern foyer of the Gaîté Lyrique.

An escape game proposed by our Licence + students

As part of the "Anatomy of a language and culture" course, eight students from the L1+ and Tempo courses (Célia, Harnoor, Jincheng, Olivia, Steve, Tong, Xiaorong and Zahiya) designed the "Les Gardiens des Langues" escape game. This initiative, offered to many high school students during the Cordées de la réussite reunion days on June 6 and 7, 2024, aimed to raise awareness of linguistic diversity by engaging participants in a symbolic quest to save the "Book of Languages". This project, which highlights the richness and preservation of languages and cultures through an approach that is both playful and educational, resonates with the celebration of the French-speaking world.
