International symposium "Taiwanese literature: research and reception abroad", October 1 at Inalco

This three-day symposium will take place on September 29 and 30 at Bordeaux Montaigne University (UBM) and on October 1 at Inalco. It will bring together specialists in Taiwanese literature from different countries (Taiwan, USA, Germany, Italy, France), as well as Taiwanese publishers and writers.

Organized by the Institut français de recherche sur l'Asie de l'Est - IFRAE (Inalco-Université Paris Cité-CNRS) and the Centre d'études et de recherches sur l'Extrême-Orient - CEREO - équipe Plurielles : Langues, Littératures, Civilisations (Université Bordeaux Montaigne), with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan.

Taiwanese Literature: state of research and reception abroad

Taiwanese literature, like Taiwanese studies in general, is gaining increasing importance in the scientific field outside Taiwan, particularly in France. This colloquium aims to take stock of the changes that have taken place in this field since the first colloquium organized on the same theme eighteen years ago (2004), at a time when research was still in its infancy.

Two documentary films devoted to Taiwanese authors and produced by the Taiwanese production company Fisfisa Media will be screened during the event, in the presence of an executive producer.
