Charting the uncharted world of Tibetan women writers today
Writing in Tibetan, but also in English or Chinese, living in Tibet proper or in exile, Tibetan women are slowly claiming and carving a space for themselves in the rich Tibetan literary scene that, until very recently, was dominated by male authors.
In the wake of three workshops held in 2022 in the United States (University of Virginia in Charlottesville, University of Colorado Boulder, Northwestern University in Evanston), this international conference will bring together scholars from various disciplines and countries to delve into this so far understudied world.
