France Universités Summer University at Inalco: "Universities, the beating heart of transitions
Institute
The global crises and challenges facing our societies are having a major impact on universities. They are also opportunities to rethink the missions and place of universities in their ecosystems: training for tomorrow's professions, professional integration, the impact of fundamental and experimental research, links between science and society, responsibility and exemplarity - universities have a major role to play in the success of major transitions. They must also transform themselves.
Aware of these challenges, university presidents met on August 25 and 26 at the Institut national de langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco), a member of France Universités.
The event will be divided into three major themed half-days, organized into round tables, plenary sessions and workshops: universities, to make a success of ecological, social and digital transitions, in particular to create a culture of transition and transform campuses; the international strategy of establishments (commitments and impact); the University and the major challenges of education for the 21st century, with a focus on the training of teachers and future teachers of first and second degrees.
The evening of Thursday 25 closed at Inalco's Maison de la Recherche, in the presence of Mme la ministre du ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche et de l'Innovation (MESRI), Sylvie Retailleau, and members of her cabinet.
