Foundations and Practices of Diplomacy" summer school, June 27 to July 1
Training
This course presents the foundations and practices of diplomatic activity in different regional contexts. It aims to familiarize students with developments in this field of activity in a context marked by the shift of global issues to the South, the dilution of regal activities and the diversification of actors in the diplomatic field.
Students will thus be able to become acquainted with diplomatic frameworks, processes and methods, and familiarize themselves with the different contexts - bilateral or multilateral - in which international negotiations are conducted.
The course also enables students to develop skills in applied diplomacy. At the end of thirty hours of lectures delivered over five days by leading diplomatic specialists and practitioners, notably from France and Canada, students will be able to formulate an analysis of diplomatic processes and methods. They will thus be able to identify the particularities of the various practices in this sphere of activity, write diplomatic notes and identify the strategies to be favored in an international negotiation exercise.
Implemented as part of a partnership between Inalco's International Relations program and the Ecole nationale d'administration publique de Montréal (ENAP), the summer school is supported by the Inalco Foundation and subsidized by the Samuel de Champlain Program of the French Consulate General in Quebec City and the Conseil franco-québécois de coopération universitaire.
Participation in organization costs is €200 for Inalco students, €300 for external students and €400 for professionals.
Open primarily to Master's level students and above, it is open to all with a maximum of 50 places.
Register for this summer school before April 30, 2022
