Geography, History/sociology of art or cultural industries, modern literature, philosophy.
Language teaching
The department needs to recruit a teacher-researcher who is fluent in French and Japanese, and who can design and supervise language courses at all levels.
The position is to be based on the following disciplines, in no preferential order and by no means exhaustive : Philosophy, Popular Arts and Culture ; Modern and Contemporary Literature.
The person recruited will participate in the life of the department, taking on responsibilities such as supervising French or Japanese tutors, preparing and taking part in the pre-start of term courses, sorting students on Parcours Sup, and monitoring French and Japanese students under exchange agreements.
The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of teaching tools, including digital ones. ICTE skills are desirable.
Depending on their specialist discipline, they may be required to teach part of the department's cross-disciplinary courses (literature, linguistics, social sciences) or INALCO's cross-disciplinary undergraduate and graduate courses.
They may also teach in English.

Research
The candidate will consider the convergence between his/her work and Inalco's intellectual and scientific identity, as embodied in the collective projects carried out by the establishment and its research units. Depending on their specialties, the teacher-researcher recruited will be able to join the research unit of their choice from among Inalco's own teams and UMRs under the (co)supervision of Inalco, in particular:
IFRAE is seeking to recruit a teacher-researcher in the field of contemporary Japanese studies. Special attention will be paid to specialists in the following disciplines or fields:
- Anthropology, history, sociology of contemporary and popular culture,
- Human geography, economics,
- Philosophy, history of ideas, modern literature
In these fields, collective research projects are being developed that should be strengthened. Candidates should have a high scientific level and be involved in national and international research networks. A relevant research project, in line with the team's existing axes and projects, is expected. Beyond the Japanese area, an interest in East Asian issues, comparisons and connections (China, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet, Vietnam) is essential, as is a taste for teamwork and scientific leadership.
