Teaching
A perfect Arabist, preferably a specialist in modern or contemporary literature, the recruited lecturer will teach language courses and Arabic literature from the introductory year to the Master's degree, in coordination with the teaching team. They will also supervise research projects at Master's level. They may also be called upon to help prepare students for the entrance examinations to the teaching profession.
Fully involved in the life of the department, the candidate will participate in the coordination of teaching activities with the various teaching teams in the “Arab Studies” department, and will take part in the preparation of programs, and in the development, monitoring and improvement of curricula.
They will also be involved in the creation of digital teaching resources and distance learning (teaching materials and documents in the context of ICTE; hybridization of training courses in Arabic language and literature; etc.).
The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of teaching tools, including digital ones. Competence in ICTE is desirable.
Depending on the candidate's specialist discipline, part of their teaching duties may be devoted to cross-disciplinary teaching within their department, or institution-wide at bachelor's and master's level.
They may also be called upon to provide pedagogical and methodological support to students, and to teach in English.

Research
The candidate will consider the convergence between his/her work and Inalco's intellectual and scientific identity, as embodied in the collective projects carried out by the establishment and its research units. Depending on his or her specialties, the teacher-researcher recruited will be able to join the research unit of his or her choice from among Inalco's own teams and the UMRs under the (co)supervision of Inalco, in particular the CERMOM:
The person recruited as a senior lecturer (MCF) will be expected to focus his or her research on issues related to Arabic literature, in liaison with the CERMOM's axes (Centre de Recherches Moyen-Orient Méditerranée, EA 4091) so as to be part of the center's collective research dynamics. He or she will demonstrate an ability to conduct innovative research, focusing on genres, texts, their transformations and literariness, or certain major aspects of Arabic literature. He or she will be able to contribute to the strengthening of research work in Arabic language and literature through, in particular:
- organizing and participating in seminars, colloquia and study days;
- setting up and funding projects;
- contributing to collective publications or international scientific events;
- participating in the organization and management of cooperative programs with other foreign research institutions.
Depending on his or her specialties, he or she may also join another Inalco team of his or her choice.
