In a deserted Tibetan province, a snow leopard breaks into a pen at night and kills nine sheep. Drunk with blood, he falls asleep in the pen, only to find himself a prisoner in the morning. A TV crew arrives on the scene as the angry shepherd vows to kill the animal if the state refuses to pay him compensation. His brother, a young llama who seems to communicate subliminally with the animal, wants to save him at all costs, as do two policemen who try to reason with the shepherd
