Le Phenix bookshop invites you to a meeting with Renyou Hou about her book "Négociations et compromis. Matrimonial practices in contemporary rural China". Based on an ethnographic survey conducted in a village in northern China, this book explores the mutations of matrimonial practices in a context of internal migration and socio-economic transformations.

The discussion will provide an opportunity to take a broader look at recent developments in marriage, love, gender and sexuality in contemporary China.
