Literary encounter with writer Vesna Goldsworthy

Vesna Goldsworthy, a Serbian-English writer, was born in Belgrade but has lived in London since 1986. Her work, written in English, has been translated into several languages. She has so far published three novels: Gorsky, Monsieur Ka and Iron Curtain: A Love Story; a book of memoir prose: Les Fraises de Chernoby; a collection of poems: L'Ange de Salonika as well as an academic work Inventing Ruritania: L'impérialisme de l'imagination, which enjoyed worldwide success.
Vesna Goldsworthy's novels revolve around the migration of Slavic peoples to London during the XXth century and develop a particular dialogue with one of the most important Serbian writers of the XXth century, Miloš Crnjanski.
Two of her books have been adapted for television by the BBC: The Strawberries of Chernoby and Gorsky.
Winner of numerous awards, she is recognized for her outstanding literary work.
