In 2009, a peasant from Nong Hua Thong, in Savannakhet province, discovered by chance a treasure trove of 24 kilos of gold, silver and precious stones.
Restored in safes for over ten years, this exceptional heritage was entrusted in 2023 to an international team of researchers to be studied for the first time.

This documentary plunges us into their investigation, from laboratory analyses to archaeological excavations, all the way to the sacred sites of Wat Phou and Lingaparvata in Champassak.
Directed by Candida Beveridge, Laos: the forgotten treasure of Khmer civilization reveals the mysteries of this unique heritage.

The screening will be preceded by an introduction by Vissa Chanthaphasouk, architect and doctoral student in archaeology at Sorbonne University, who is studying the temple of Vat Phou.
