Ifrae Meetings
About the book La Littérature taïwanaise à la rencontre du monde, edited by Tan-Ying Chou, Angel Pino and Isabelle Rabut, texts edited by Angel Pino and Isabelle Rabut, You Feng, Paris, 2024.
This collective work, the result of the second colloquium on Taiwanese literature organized in France, attempts to assess the current position of this literature both from within - through the way it thinks about its relationship with the island's past and with the rest of the world - and from outside, by commenting on the reception it is given abroad. The product of a troubled history, Taiwanese literature, long overlooked, is today celebrated for its cosmopolitanism, linguistic diversity and singular place in the world's Sinophonie. The present meeting will be an opportunity to discuss what characterizes it and to take stock of twenty-five years of translations into French.
