Conference description
The philosopher-poet Moshe de Rieti, also known as the "Jewish Dante", gained fame for his work in terza rima entitled "Miqdash Me῾at" (Little Sanctuary). This text aroused great interest in the Jewish community between the 15th and 17th centuries. A chapter of this poem was translated into Judeo-Italian on several occasions, and a lengthy commentary written in the 16th century accompanies much of the work.
In this presentation, the team from the Franco-German project "A Hebrew Dante: Moshe de Rieti's Miqdash Me῾at and its cultural background" will share the initial results of their research.
