Chinese theater performance: Butterfly lovers 梁山伯与祝英台
Butterfly lovers (梁山伯与祝英台, La Romance de Liang Shanbo et Zhu Yingtai) is a Chinese legend that tells the story of desperate lovers who, like Romeo and Juliet, would rather die than be separated. The legend is such a monument to Chinese mythology and culture that in 2006 it was submitted to UNESCO for inclusion in its repertoire of oral and intangible heritage.
