Neo-Aramaic dialects

As part of the Paris-Emergence project, this conference provides an in-depth introduction to the different dialectal varieties of Neo-Aramaic, an ancestral language still spoken in certain communities.

Hosted by Professor Geoffrey Khan, a specialist in Neo-Aramaic dialects and Semitic languages, the presentation will explore the linguistic and cultural specificities of these dialects, their geographical distribution, and the current challenges associated with their transmission. This event aims to enrich understanding of linguistic practices in the diaspora and provides a space for exchange for researchers, students and enthusiasts, in the spirit of scientific animation supported by the Emergence project.
