Scientific event summary

The Musée-maison Avetik Isahakyan preserves numerous rare books, personal objects, postcards and letters brought back from Paris by the poet. As part of the jubilee commemorations, the museum highlights various aspects of Isahakyan's life and work around the world, with a special focus on his Paris years (1930-1936), which played a decisive role in his trajectory. His 60ᵉ birthday was celebrated in Marseille. Today, on the occasion of his 150ᵉ birthday, it's once again to Paris that we return to evoke the Maître's literary and human legacy.

This day will also include the presentation of the French translation of the poem Abu-Lala Mahari and its bilingual edition (prefaced by Jean-Pierre Mahé), a concert of songs on his poems performed by Mekertitch Mekertitchyan, the screening of the film Isahakyan et la France, as well as the first screening of the animated film Le Maître, dedicated to the life and work of Avetik Isahakyan.
