Are you interested in studying at Inalco? You need to go through an application procedure before you can register with us. Application procedures differ depending on the degree you are planning to study for and, where applicable, your nationality. Please read the procedures below carefully.
International students who wish to come to Inalco on an individual basis - and not as part of an exchange - to apply for a degree course must absolutely check the application procedure that corresponds to their situation by reading the page dedicated to them.

APPLYING FOR LICENSE 1 (L.AS INCLUDED)

To enter the first year of Licence at Inalco, you must follow the Parcoursup procedure.
Parcoursup is the national platform for pre-registration to the first year of higher education in France. This procedure is aimed at high school students, baccalaureate holders from previous years (outside and within Inalco) wishing to enter a 1st year Bachelor's degree program. You can formulate your wishes in the main admission phase from January 15 to March 13, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
Candidates who were unable to formulate wishes during the main phase, will be able to apply during thecomplementary phase, within the limit of available places.
Please note: the Literal Arabic, Chinese and Russian Licences 1 are accessible in the first year at living language 1 (LV1) and living language 2 (LV2) level. To assess your level, we invite you to take the online assessment test by creating an account.

You will need to apply on the Ecandidate 2 platform from May 12 to June 15, 2025.
The application is intended for people seeking direct admission to the second or third year of the bachelor's degree on the basis of their previous studies and an adequate level of proficiency in the language concerned.
LICENCE BILANGUE
The licence bilangue is accessible from Licence 2.
Pre-registration will be open from February 10 to April 7, 2025.
To pre-register for the licence bilangue, please send an email to sefor-formations@inalco.fr indicating:
- Last name, first name
- Inalco student number
- Current registration 2024-2025
- Chosen duo (Major/Minor for 2024-2025): see list of duos

PROFESSIONALIZING LICENCES
L'Inalco offers professionalizing courses from Licence 2 upwards. To apply for these courses, you must log on to the eCandidat1 platform from May 2 to May 30, 2025

Inalco's Masters programs are open to students with a Bachelor's degree who can demonstrate a sufficient level in one of the languages taught at Inalco.
FIRST YEAR MASTERS
For the following Masters programs: LLCER, Didactics of Languages, Languages and Societies, Management and International Business, MEEF 2nd degré, International Relations, Language Sciences, Automatic Language Processing, Literary Translation, Specialized Translation, Mediation and Interpretation in Public Service.
Application campaign: from February 25 to March 24, 2025, exclusively on the national application platform Mon Master.
Complementary phase (subject to available places): from June 17 to June 23, 2025 on the Mon Master platform.
Beware: fornon-European applicants whose country of residence is covered by the Études en France scheme, the application campaign will run from February 25 to March 24, 2025 on the eCandidat1 platform.

DLC, DC, DL 1st YEAR
- If you are registering for the first time at Inalco, you must follow the eCandidat2 procedure. The registration period is simultaneous with the administrative registration period (early July and late August).
ONLY for Chinese DLC1, DC1 and DL1, the campaign will be held between May 12 and June 15, 2025 - If you are already or have been a student at Inalco, please send an e-mail to scolarite@inalco.fr mentioning your surname, first name, student number and the desired institutional diploma (DLC, DL, DC specifying the language if applicable) so that we can give you a pass for web registration.
DLC, DL SECOND, 3rd AND 4th YEARS
Students wishing to enter a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of the DLC must apply on the eCandidat2 platform from May 12 to June 15, 2025
The application is intended for those seeking direct admission to DLC2, DLC3, DLC4 on the basis of their previous studies and an adequate level of proficiency in the language concerned.
DIPLÔME D'ÉTABLISSEMENT EN COMMERCE INTERNATIONAL ET LANGUE ORIENTALE (CILO)
To apply, you need to log on to the eCandidat1 from May 2 to May 30, 2025
DIPLÔME INTENSIF D'ARABE
Admission to the intensive Arabic diploma is based on a portfolio, possibly with an interview.
To apply (Date to come) send to arabeintensif@inalco.fr in a single PDF file and in this order:
- a detailed CV including email address and telephone number;
- your baccalaureate transcript together with all results and diplomas obtained subsequently;
- a letter of motivation.
INTENSIVE RUSSIANDIPLOMA
It's open via Parcoursup in the main phase from January 15 to March 13, 2025 for highly motivated beginner students (high school students or students without a bachelor's degree or equivalent) with excellent learning ability and wishing to devote themselves exclusively to studying Russian for a year.
People who already hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and wish to take this degree as part of additional training or retraining, must go through the eCandidat2 platform from February 25 to June 15, 2025
Please note: high school students and students who do not hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent must apply via Parcoursup.
DIPLOMA INITIATION IN ARABIC, CHINESE OR RUSSIAN
To join the initiation diploma, you need to create an account on Parcoursup and formulate your wish for the desired course during the main phase from January 15 to March 13, 2025 The complementary phase of Parcoursup will take place from June 2 to September 11, 2025 , within the limit of available places.

Inalco offers degrees that are fully accessible by distance.
For 2024-2025, the distance diplomas on offer are:
- the Initiation to Arabic diploma
- the Civilization Diploma (DC) in Islamology
- the Language Diploma (DL) in Modern Hebrew 1st year and 2nd year
- the Language Diploma (DL) in Literal Arabic 1st and 2nd year
- the language diploma (DL) and language and civilization diploma (DLC) of Malagasy 1st and 2nd year
The application campaign is open from May 13 to June 16, 2024 on the eCandidate2.

LANGUAGE ORIENTATION TESTS
TESTS FOR LICENCES IN ARAB, CHINESE, RUSSIAN, HÉBREU
For applications to Licence 1, 2 or 3 or to first, second or third year institutional diplomas, Inalco offers placement tests to help you assess your language level and orient yourself.
Please note: these placement tests do not constitute an application. Admission to a degree program at Inalco is subject to the submission of an application on the dedicated platforms and within the deadlines indicated in the Applying and registering for a diploma course
To apply for a Licence 1 - Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew or Russian
You wish to apply for L1 and you have already acquired knowledge in one of these languages (which you may have studied in high school as LV1, LV2, LV3): we invite you to take the online placement test (for Arabic, Chinese or Russian) on the Moodle+ platform by creating an account. The placement test for Hebrew will take place only on ../../2025 from, in room ... (65 rue des Grands Moulins, Paris 75013).
After the test:
- If you don't yet have the level in Arabic, Chinese or Russian to be admitted to L1, you can apply for the diplôme d'initiation which will enable you the following year to access the first year of the bachelor's degree.
- If you have a sufficient level in Arabic, Chinese or Russian, you can apply directly for L1.
- Depending on your results in the Hebrew test, you will be directed towards the "Great Beginners" or "False Beginners" pathway in L1.
To apply for the second or third year of the Licence or the Diplôme d'établissement (DL/DLC) 1-2-3 - Arabic, Chinese or Russian
Other online tests are available on Moodle+ to help you choose the most suitable level.

Please note: in addition to the online test (1st part), applicants for the 2nd and 3rd year Russian diplomas will be invited to take additional face-to-face tests at the end of each of the presentations relevant to them on the pre-entry day (../../2025 , in room ... ).
