From January 5 to 15, Inalco hosted a new session of the Expérimentarium training program, designed to help PhD students learn how to popularize science and speak to non-specialist audiences.

Over several days, seven PhD students were trained to present their research topic in a clear, accessible and interactive way, highlighting their methodologies, their terrains, as well as the scientific issues involved in their work. The aim of this scheme is to enable young researchers to better communicate about their work and share their scientific approach in a stimulating format, based on encounters and exchange.

This training culminated in two afternoons of meetings with students, organized as part of the Cordées de la réussite. On January 13 and 15, around a hundred middle school and highschool students came to Inalco to discover the work of these young researchers and talk to them about their careers, their research themes and university life.

This new session confirms the interest of the scheme, both for PhD students - who develop valuable mediation and communication skills - and for students, who benefit from direct access to research and its players, in a friendly and educational setting.

A next training course is already planned for March, in order to further develop the scheme within Inalco.
