Věra Chytilová and Zuzana Kirchnerová, female voices of Czech cinema
In partnership with the Czech-In festival, Inalco's Czech Studies section is organizing a screening of three short films honoring two great female voices of Czech cinema, Věra Chytilová and Zuzana Kirchnerová, with a program devoted to their early films.
Described by Czech writer Josef Škvorecký as "a philosopher and revolutionary of form", Věra Chytilová is undeniably one of the major directors of world cinema. The 11th edition of the Czech-In Festival was dedicated to her.
Three screenings will be offered:

Winner of the Cinefondation student section at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
The screening will be followed by a discussion.
