Tibetan Cultural Day 2026

The association Confluences tibétaines organizes its cultural day in connection with Tibet.
The Parkhang, in the town of Dergé, is a printery for Tibetan Religious and Secular Books. It contains a significant amount of hand-carved printing blocks from which Pecha are produced.

The day will begin alongside Amdo shepherds in the Golok region around a mise en abyme of their film essays.

After a free buffet lulled by contemporary Amdowa songs, the association Confluences tibétaines will take you on a journey to Dolpo, in the Himalayan margins of Nepal, in the footsteps of Tshiring and Tenzin, two courageous women working to protect the snow leopard.

The musical break will take you to Kham with singer Gazom Lhamo, then to the heart of a collective dance practice, gorshey.

Engineer and architect Tenzin Nyandak will answer questions after the screening of a documentary focusing on the religious architecture of the monasteries of Zanskar in northeast India.

Raùl Diaz will recount his anecdotes as he presents the series of photos currently on show at the gallery, and a further snack will be offered before turning to Bön. This spiritual tradition, present in Tibet at the time of the official introduction of Buddhism, has partly survived it, just as it has accommodated it....
