Taiwan and its key words: evolution, circulation and Taiwanization
The interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary seminar "Taiwan and its key words: evolution, circulation and Taiwanization" aims to develop discussions and reflections on the particularity of contemporary Taiwanese society and the evolution of its history, in particular through discussions on key words. The word is a privileged point of penetration for cultural content. Some words, more than others, seem to embody the way of thinking, the ideals of the speakers of a language and carry with them a strong charge of collective unconsciousness.
Each talk will examine one of the key words that will enable us to better grasp and pinpoint the evolution and development of Taiwan in all its states, as well as taking a look at the question of Taiwanization. In parallel, we will also invite specialists from other cultural areas to develop a comparative discussion on cases and issues shared in various societies.
In addition, the seminar also has both a training and a research objective, so it includes, depending on the occasion, talks by a confirmed researcher, presentations by PhD students or Master 2 students.
The first seminar will start in October. Please register to receive information about the sessions: https://forms.gle/XYVmyB4sR1ZauB3k9
