Louisa Aslanian and the concentration camp experience

The conference, organized by Inalco's Armenian Studies Section, will be conducted in Armenian by Krikor Beledian, and moderated by Christian Batikian.

Louisa Aslanian, Armenian poet and writer, is a leading figure in diaspora literature.

Born in Tabriz, later settling in Paris, she joined the French Resistance during the Second World War. Arrested by the Gestapo in 1944, she was deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she continued to write clandestinely.

This conference will retrace the exceptional career of this woman of letters through her stories and her concentration camp experience.
