A prolific writer, Monsieur Schmitt made his name in 1991 with La Nuit de Valognes, before enjoying huge success with works such as Le Visiteur (1993), L'Évangile selon Pilate (2000) and Oscar et la dame rose (2002). A daring man of letters, since 2021 he has embarked on a monumental work: La Traversée des Temps, an eight-volume fresco retracing the history of mankind through the eyes of an immortal man. More recently, the publication of volume 5 in this series, Les Deux Royaumes, tells the story of the birth of Christianity.

Translated into 48 languages and with over 22 million copies sold worldwide, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt will invite us, for the space of an evening, to explore his own quest for meaning. In this talk, entitled "Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt: la traversée spirituelle d'un écrivain", he will look back on his journey as an author, his inspirations, and his intimate philosophical reflection that led him to Catholicism.
