Conditional Constructs Across World Languages

This international symposium aims to provide a forum for in-depth discussion of the different ways in which conditionality is expressed in natural languages around the world. Conditional constructions have mainly been studied by logicians and, to a lesser extent, by linguists. There is therefore an urgent need to bring together the typological features of conditional constructions present in languages of various linguistic families, each with unique characteristics. The secondary aim is to discover new and extended cross-linguistic patterns and to improve our understanding of conditionality in typologically and geographically divergent language families around the world.
