Anthropology and teaching in a globalized world

International colloquium organized by PLIDAM, Inalco, Paris, the EICD-FFSF laboratory of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the Anthropology and Ethnology laboratory of the Institut de Civilisation/Musée d'Art et d'Archéologie (IC/MAA) of the University of Antananarivo.

In the age of globalization, societies in contact face unprecedented challenges.
The increased interconnection between cultures and nations creates a complex dynamic in which, among other areas, education is called upon to take into account the needs of a diverse population. This challenge calls for a critical reflection on the place of a plural discipline such as anthropology in the face of development in its various forms: linguistic, socio-cultural, artistic, and so on. In the knowledge that "development is [...] nothing other than the whole range of actions of all kinds that claim to be related to it" (Olivier De Sardan, 2001). The need to adapt to a multicultural reality is now more pressing than ever.

Therefore, this symposium explores how anthropology can enrich the understanding of rapidly changing social, linguistic, educational and scientific practices in the fields concerned. Within this framework, the general objective is to contribute to the enrichment of research in anthropology and its related disciplines: human and social sciences, educational sciences, language sciences, exact sciences, etc. New insights are thus expected to help not only in the renewal of research, but also in the making of relevant decisions concerning intersecting public policies: health, heritage, digital, education (link with Malagasy society and culture; with the expectations of learners of varied origins, etc.). In short, the aim would be to foster a more inclusive approach in a context of globalization.
