Synopsis

This documentary reconstructs the course of the massacre of Koreans, mainly in the Tokyo and Yokohama area, after the Great Kantō Earthquake on September 1, 1923. It also echoes the efforts of associations, bereaved family members and political figures to ensure that this dark episode of the twentieth century is accorded its rightful place in national history and memory.

 

The event is organized by Fenêtres sur le Japon in conjunction with the Populations japonaises research team.
