Presentation
This book aims at the practical acquisition of the basics of the spoken and written Tibetan language, in its so-called "common" or "standard" variant, i.e. the language spoken in the diaspora and largely based on Lhasa Tibetan. Aimed at absolute beginners, the book's theory and detailed grammatical explanations are based on the Manuel de tibétain standard by Nicolas Tournadre and Sangda Dorje (L'Asiathèque, 2009), supplemented by a wealth of exercises for using the language in everyday communicative situations.
Progressive, it comprises twelve lessons structured around communicative objectives and grammatical points. Each lesson includes a vocabulary list, a summary of essential grammar points whenever necessary, and exercises presented according to the four fundamental language skills: reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension and speaking. Recordings are available for dialogues and some exercises, and an answer key is provided at the end of each lesson for most exercises
