DiasCo-Tib
Diasporic convergences: A case study of Tibetan refugees
Project summary:DiasCo-Tib proposes to analyze forms of linguistic, spatial and social convergences at work during a "diasporic moment", i.e. a crucial moment of reactivation and reconfiguration of a diaspora. The research is based on the case of Tibetan refugees, who are currently experiencing such a "diasporic moment", linked to the anticipated disappearance of their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama (b. 1935), Recent migratory movements of Tibetan refugees from South Asia to Europe and North America are leading to a large-scale spatial reconfiguration of this multipolar diasporic network, of which France is now a key location.
