The Mooré language contact kit

Thanks to short, practical dialogues, you'll learn essential words and develop the automatisms needed for everyday exchanges. Each dialogue is accompanied by grammar points and simple vocabulary. Video activities and written exercises allow you to check your knowledge and monitor your progress. Finally, we'll invite you to explore Mossi culture, that of Mooré speakers.

Training timetable

  • November 12 to 2024 to January 27, 2025: registration opens on the platform France Université Numérique
  • December 30, 2024: opening of the MOOC contents
  • February 24, 2025: end of the MOOC

What you will learn

By the end of this course, you will know:

  • introduce yourself,
  • book a hotel room,
  • communicate for travel (buying a place, negotiating prices,...)
  • place an order at a restaurant,
  • buy objects or food.

That way, you'll be ready to stop being strangers in Burkina Faso and make friends here. We'll be delighted if this MOOC then inspires you to deepen your knowledge of Mooré.

Format

This MOOC lasts 6 weeks: one week of introduction and five weeks of training. The work program is organized into five parts:

  • short dialogues filmed with actors in Burkina Faso
  • instructional videos
  • practice exercises
  • a cultural review at the end of each week
  • an exchange forum

Evaluation and certification

This MOOC does not award certification, but you have the opportunity to earn a tracking badge by passing the graded exercises with a score of at least 50%.
