The aim will be to present the unusual format of this book by Li Zhiwu and Men Xiaoyan and its graphic style adapted to the content, taken from a novel by Jia Pingwa evoking the decline of opera in Shaanxi province. We will attempt to show how this 20-meter-long leporello fits into the tradition of Chinese painted scrolls.
