The Amazigh movement in Libya burst onto the scene during the 2011 uprising, taking opinion and observers by surprise. Firmly rooted in Libyan society, the movement's expression and actions have been innovative on many levels.

During this study day, we will focus on the place of the Amazigh language and its teaching in Berber-speaking regions in Libya. The teaching of the Berber language during the war in 2011, the introduction of teaching in the primary cycle in 2012 and the opening of the Department of Berber Studies at the Faculty of Letters in Zouara (University of Zaouiya), will, among other things, be the subjects covered during this day. The general context in Libya will also be discussed.
