Teaching
The candidate recruited will need to demonstrate real versatility, in line with the job title. The teaching activity will cover both the specialist language (version), the methodology of academic work and the contemporary realities of Russia and the countries of the former USSR from a multidisciplinary perspective in the humanities and social sciences (sociology, political science, geography, anthropology, etc.).
An excellent command of Russian and French is expected. The candidate will be involved in the supervision of master's students, particularly in the follow-up of dissertations.
He or she may be required to intervene in thematic and cross-disciplinary teaching within the department or the establishment, at bachelor's and master's levels, depending on his or her disciplinary specialty.
The candidate's proven ICTE skills and experience will be called upon to contribute to the development of digital teaching materials within INALCO. Teaching can be provided in French, Russian and English.

Research
The candidate will consider the convergence between his/her work and Inalco's intellectual and scientific identity, as embodied in the collective projects carried out by the establishment and its research units. Depending on the candidate's specialties, he or she will be able to join the research unit of his or her choice from among Inalco's own teams and UMRs under the (co)supervision of Inalco, in particular: CREE (Centre de recherche Europes-Eurasie)
The candidate's work demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the political, cultural and/or social issues at stake in contemporary Russia. The candidate's work is preferably in the fields of political science and sociology, without excluding other disciplinary fields. His or her publications and scientific collaborations attest to a solid foothold in his or her field of research at national and international level.
The candidate has a perfect command of the Russian language and a good command of English. Knowledge, even passive, of another language taught at Inalco is an asset.
His or her research objects must be able to fit in with the research axes of CREE 2025-2029, in particular with the projects of axes 3 ("Changing societies: politics, religions, territory") or 4 ("Crises, conflicts and risks"). An ability to approach his or her research objects from an interdisciplinary perspective will be particularly appreciated.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the projects and work of the DECRIPT program, to doctoral seminars in his or her field of expertise, and to the activity of valorizing research, particularly within the framework of the Observatory of Contemporary Russia.
