Administrative and pedagogical responsibilities

A French and Australian dual citizen, Guibourg Delamotte works on Japanese politics and International security and is a tenured Full Professor of Political Science in the Japanese studies department of the French Institute of Oriental Studies (Inalco). She teaches at Inalco and Sciences Po Paris. 

Guibourg Delamotte is a Research Fellow of the French Research Institute on East Asia (Ifrae, Inalco) and heads its Research Programme on contemporary East Asia. She is Senior Visiting Research Fellow of the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), the University of Tokyo).

In addition she is Distinguished Research Fellow of the Japan Forum on International Relations (JFIR, Tokyo), Academic Fellow of the Institute for Contemporary Asian Studies (Temple University Japan, Tokyo), a former National Institute of Defense Studies Fellow (MoD, Tokyo). 

She is a graduate in law of the University of Paris Panthéon Assas and the University of Oxford, in Japanese of Inalco, political studies of Sciences Po Paris where she defended her Habilitation to supervise doctoral research. She holds a PhD in political studies from the School of Advanced Social Sciences Studies (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris). 

Her most recent signe-authored books are: Le Japon, un leader discret (Eyrolles, 2023), La Démocratie au Japon, singulière et universelle (ENS Ed., 2022). She also coedited The Abe Legacy. How Japan has been shaped by Abe Shinzô, Lexington, 2021 (with J. Brown and R. Dujarric) and Géopolitique et géoéconomie du monde contemporain. Conflits et puissances, La Découverte, 2024 (with C. Tellenne).
