Launch of a scholarship program for Hebrew-Arabic double degree students

Since 2013, Inalco has been offering a program unique in France and Europe of double degree Hebrew-Arabic. This three-year course of excellence teaches Hebrew and Jewish culture on the one hand, literal and dialectal Arabic and Arabic culture on the other.

The Hebrew-Arabic double-immersion pilot program

International mobilityis an essential academic tool for students of languages and civilization. It comes up against obstacles of an institutional, pedagogical and financial nature. The Inalco Foundation proposes to help remove them by setting up immersion scholarships. As of 2022, immersion scholarships have been set up for the Indian(India), persan (Tajikistan), siamese (Thailand) worlds and now for the Hebrew-Arabic double degree.



Thanks to the support of the Fondation Rothschild and the Fondation France-Israel, Inalco and its Foundation will be able to apply the student immersion scheme to this program and test it in a pilot format. It will include a immersion semester in Jerusalem (in partnership with the Institut Rothberg - Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and a semester in Cairo at the Institut Français du Caire (DEAC - Département d'Enseignement de l'Arabe Contemporain).



The pilot will cover two scholarships for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Applicants must be enrolled in L2 of the double-licence during the 2023-2024
